Barternihan

Companies would like to promote their products & the goal is to share, to market their influence to the community. Influencers like stay-at-home moms have needs and are looking for products and services they themselves can use in their households, and the market is them sharing the experience with friends and neighbors and social networks. This is a term called “social capital,” which is the truest representation of value and profit. The process of finding each other is much like ants searching for their food, updating records and tracking, accounting for one another. Barternihan is connecting two similar concepts used for making life easier, providing a space for companies to place their promotions and link them as simple as it can be. The right relationships with ready influencers can help improve life satisfaction for everyone involved. Barternihan came from a words Barter meaning to exchange things (such as products or services) for each other things instead of money and nihan extracted from the word Bayanihan, a Filipino term taken from the word bayan, referring to a nation, town or community. The whole term bayanihan refers to a spirit of communal unity or effort to achieve a particular objective.

Aruga: Good Nurtured Box Inc Brand Testing

Before our family came back in the Philippines last 2015, we created a group called Philippine Holistic Health & Wellness aiming to sort and connect all the organic products suppliers in the Philippines.  Just a week ago, when I was browsing the page I bumped in the post published by Aruga Ni Kit, I became so much  interested to know more about this unique soap-in-a-box products.  Good enough, I had the chance to be connected with them and I will say that it was a privilege to received from them a free products samples for testing.

It was shipped and enclosed with this smartly-designed-recycled "surprise box" as our daughter called it.  Our family were obviously excited when our little one was removing each item from the package mostly my husband!

Digging more, I found out that these set of personal care are actually products of Good Nurtured Box Inc., and Aruga is their brand name.  And guess what, Aruga is a common tagalog word which is in equal meaning of the word "Nurture" or "Tender Care"...isn't it very catchy and distinctive name?

In my talks with sprouting businesses, I'm always intrigue to know how the business begun and the character it was founded.  Good nurtured box owner desired and stewardship is to helping the local farmers to elevate their social living.  In their page, they wrote, "Good Nurtured Box Inc. (GNBI) is a comprehensive social enterprise committed to improve poverty from grass-root to communities. It is founded on the desire to become a Social Enabler of people. That, through its business, it will allow people to change their current situation and be free from the burden of poverty and lack of opportunities. As a sustainable Social Enabler, Good Nurtured has created a business program that impacts lives of the grass-root farmer and enterprising communities. It directly gets raw materials from small farm villages to create its organic and natural products. The products are then made available for livelihood opportunities to enterprising individuals at a very low capital. This social venture system of impacting the lives from the source to distribution is Good Nurtured’s way of achieving its desire to sustainably empower individuals at the root and translate this to improving communities as a whole". ...know more.

The company's brand is currently focused to two personal care which are Skin Care and Oral Care.
Their Skin care is a line of bar soaps that they claimed to have Organic Ingredients, Free from Chemical and one of the key ingredient, Social Enabler.

According from Ms. Aquita, they came up with three different delicately-studied and formulated Bar Soap serving three unique purposes.

Organic Antibacterial Soap which main ingredients are Banana Extract from Banana Peel and Carrot Extract.  The Banana Extract has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties which prevents acne causing germs that damages the skin.  While the Carrot extract is anti-inflammatory and a conditioning agent that helps sooth chapped and uncomfortable skin.

Well out of his excitement the day we received this package, my husband (Joshua) the  Mr. Green (herbal lovers) in the family used the Aruga Banana & Carrot Extract Bar Soap and immediately had a shower.  He said that the soap seems like it will be good for shaving lather, and it actually became his shaving partner.  He exclaimed...very pure!
While in my 7 days of experience in using this soap every shower time, I noticed that it leaves my skin soft and feels moisturize.  Because of its Anti-Bacterial properties, we also used this for our super active daughter during her bath time.  The only thing I will suggest is if you will use this with your little one, make sure that don't get the soap in their eyes for its not a no more-tears-formulation.   Though we are looking forward that Good Nurtured Box, will come-up with a new line of personal care products dedicated for kids like a no more tears whole body liquid wash.  Sounds great right?
Over all, I love the soothing and relaxing smell of this soap.  One more good thing about this soap which I believe applied to the rest of their bar soaps, this doesn't have any trace of Triclosan, Triclocarban, and Paraben.

Organic Anti-aging/Rejuvenating Soap
It has Banana Extract, Rice Bran Oil, Seaweed Extract, Hydrolyzed Soy, Wheat Protein and Kojic that makes a perfect anti-aging and rejuvenating formula.

I asked the help of my Aunt, Corazon Zacate to try the Anti-Aging Soap and after three (3) days of using it, I got her feedback:

Organic Whitening Soap
A refreshing soap that's bursting with exfoliating banana, papaya, rice bran and seaweed extracts plus a generous dash of L-glutathione.

We haven't try this one, but  I asked somebody to do it for me and test the soap.  She agreed on it and by Saturday she will give her feed back.  So stay connected in our site, bookmark this now!

Including in the package we received were the Aruga Herbal Toothpaste, and Aruga Mouthwash.

Aruga Herbal Toothpaste
Though it wasn't made locally, their assurance is it is specially formulated and certified organic by the Australian government.  "Aruga Herbal Toothpaste guarantees clean and fresh breath all day long! Aruga claims this unique formula targets and kills bacteria including Streptococcus Mutans which causes dental plaque and tooth decay. It also reduces bleeding and inflamed gums while freshening the breath! It's packed with stabilized chlorine dioxide (ClO2), deionized (DI) water, calcium carbonate, Glabrous Sarcandra, peppermint, and sorbitol. Stabilized chlorine dioxide eliminates the production of volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) that are the root cause of bad breath. Deionized water removes various particles and ions which might impact flavor. Calcium carbonate is a mild abrasive which helps to safely remove plaque when brushing and gently polishes away surface stains. Glabrous sarcandra possesses the actions of suppressing bacteria, relieving inflammation, cleaning, and whitening teeth. Peppermint flavor is added to give the toothpaste a minty- fresh taste while sorbitol provides natural sweetness and also helps protects against tooth decay. Aruga Herbal toothpaste is free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), which of course according to research and factual testimony is a harmful chemical with multiple health risks.

We almost used it all just for a couple of weeks

The toothpaste is color green and with a not over powering minty flavor. Our little one actually describe it as having a candy-like taste.  She likes it even more than the home made toothpastes her Daddy has made (and she really liked that).  I also asked some of our daughter's friends opinion-- a 3 year old and 7 year old twins) to try the toothpaste and one of the twins said that it taste like a bubble-gum and that it is masarap (tasting good).  While the other twin said, that is "maanghang"  (spicy) and their younger sister which was the 3 year old girl said, hmmmm showing a facial expression that she was liking it!   My husband who himself is meticulous in choosing toothpaste brand, said that it is masarap and noted about its having a unique green color makes it even more enjoyable... and it is natural too. Excellent product.

Aruga Mouthwash with Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide

Their claimed for this mouthwash is intended not only to eliminate bad breath, but to also cleanse and protect your mouth while fighting against tooth decay, plaque, gingivitis, and all other oral hygiene maladies. It oxidizes and dissolves food films to help eliminate bad breath, leaving your mouth, gums, and teeth feeling clean and refreshed. Made from non-hazardous ingredients, it is safe for your entire family. Aruga Alcohol-free Mouthwash is formulated with a unique patented ingredient (stabilized chlorine dioxide) that helps eliminate odors by dissolving food films, thus eradicating the true source of bad breath. Peppermint flavoring is also added to the formula to give it a minty-fresh taste while deionized water removes various particles and ions which might impact flavor. It is alcohol free, which makes rinsing painless and safe to use every time.

I will confessed that I myself am not really a religious user of mouthwash.  I just don't like the taste of mouthwash that is commercially sold in the grocery stores, not to mention those harmful chemicals printed in the labels.  When I tried this Aruga Mouthwash, my first thought was its like it was lacking of flavor because I was expecting for a strong one.  Well I was trying to compare the colorless Aruga Mouthwash with a Strong-Green Colored mouthwash we previously used.   But, it started to become bubbly when you swish and gurgle it.  It leaves you with a not so strong, minty taste with a-ready to-overcome the world smile.

The mouthwash comes with the measuring cup
With our Good Nurtured delivery, it contained 6 Bars of their Aruga Bar Soap.  These boxes are included with the retail membership package, starting at just PHP990.  To know more how to join the Good Nurtured way, you can visit their site at http://goodnurturedbox.com/about-us or you can call them at their Mobile No., 09178314114 / 09478929007 and look or Mr. Don Tolentino.

Our family, The Haltom would like to give thanks to Good Nurtured Box Inc and Ms. Aquita for the privilege of letting us experience their products.   Our hearts are encourage with the stewardship you are modelling.  Ending this article with the word of God they shared in their site.   To God be the glory.

Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors! Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
